Eastern European Initiatives Congress, Lublin, Poland

Tom Fleming will present a paper on the decentralisation of cultural capital with a focus on the role of culture-led development in Eastern European cities. The Eastern Europe Initiatives Congress EEIC brings together 17 countries from the Eastern Partnership and European Union, as well as Russian Federation and other European states.

The EEIC works to inspire more effective and sustainable cross-border collaboration, strengthening development cooperation, and stimulating dialogue between local and regional authorities.

TFCC has been very active across Eastern Europe and Russia for 15 years, developing strategies, providing guidance and working to build capacity and expertise in the region. We also have a particular interest in developing the cultural capital of smaller cities such as Lublin, which is seeking to build a more resiliant and balanced economy.

- Bridging culture and creativity with other areas of city life - how culture and creativity can provide solutions to challenges that the city is facing.

Evaluation of the Women Make Music Programme

TFCC has been appointed by the Performing Rights Society Foundation (PRSF) to evaluate their Women Make Music Programme.

Women Make Music supports the development of outstanding women songwriters and composers of all genres and backgrounds at different stages of their career. Through a survey, interviews and case studies, TFCC will be evaluating how the programme has delivered against the following aims:

- To break down assumptions and stereotypes within the music industry by encouraging role models for future generations
- To raise awareness of the gender gap and to ensure that women are aware that support for new music is available to them
- To increase the profile of women who are creating new music in the UK
- To encourage women who may otherwise not have applied for PRS for Music Foundation funding to do so.

This builds on our earlier evaluation work for the PRSF - including the Momentum Music Fund.
